I recently finished a new paining I created from photograph I took of some Ibis cruising our neighborhood. While I have been focusing my time more on my mixed media pursuits, my roots began in painting.
Here is a little visual journey on 3 paintings I created waaaaaaaayyyyyyyy back in 1995 and the recent painting. I have always struggled more with painting then with mixed media….. there seems to be some level of fear involved with the “what if the painting sucks” component. I guess we just have to face that fear and take the risk of working through it.
Well, I think these paintings are all great! I like the energy in the brush work and of course the vibrant colors.
Bug, Spoonbill and Flying Fish – 1995 Ibis 2009
Yesterday was the official groundbreaking ceremony for the Orange County and the Orlando Magic Recreation Centers / Public Art Project.
Larry and I were selected to create 2 large scale pieces for the Goldenrod location. The event was so exciting, in attendance were Mayor Crotty, all of the county commissioners,
several Magic players and upper level staff. Lots of press coverage for the event.
